Melvin

I found this Chris Melvin clip which creeped under the radar. Melvin is one of the most slept on dudes in Canada...Holding St. Andrew's NB down.

1FS Around the World: M

M has a tonne of options. I know a lot of them will have very little or nothing...but here goes.

Mexico is a huge country with a wide variety of terrains. From the gigantic Mexico City to smaller cities all over, Mexico has a lot to offer skaters.
Here is Mario Saenz who skates for Sugar skateboards I think. This part is from a Mexican video called Distreeto 2

They call this dude Pekas...This is his sponsor me video. Hes repping a city called Merida on the Yucatan.

This dude is named Mladenovic Petar and hes repping Skopje, FYR Macedonia.

This is a clip of Moroccan skaters in Morocco.

So is this.

DLR

Found this Diamond Dave, Running With The Devil soundboard. Wow your friends.

Hes No Barbara Walters.

I try to keep the negativity to a minimum, but has anyone seen the two part interview with Matt Hensley by Pat Duffy over at Plan B? These guys are both legends for sure, but Pat's interview skills were lacking...I had to mention it. There must be someone who knows a thing or two about interviews to get some questions together for him. It kind of reminded me of this:

1FS Around the World: L

Not much for L...but here goes. Lithuania seems to be developing a healthy scene as is most of the Baltics. Here is a dude named Galbut Sekmadienis...good name.

This is what I found for Latvia...who have the best hockey fans on the planet...seriously.

Lebanon yielded very little...This PT'd dude has all the footy it seems

1FS Around the World: J

Japan: YouWillSoon's Japanese field reporter always posts rad clips from the Lesque team on that site, so I thought I'd do the same for my Japan post. I can't remember if this one was posted, but it was the newest one posted on the 'tube. Here is Shota Yamazaki from Tokyo.

I wish there was more for J. Particularly Jamaica. But skateboarding seems to struggle in that island nation. If you know of some Jamaican rippers, hit me up.

I honestly didn't expect to find much middle east stuff in general. I was surprised to find a good amount of Jordani clips on there. Filmed on point and shoots a la Gnar Gnar, and filmed at 2 or 3 spots, here is Ahmad Sahli repping Amman, Jordan.

1FS Around the World: I

So many countries names start with I (In English at least, they perhaps call themselves something totally different e.g. Germany/Deutchland.)I was looking forward to this post because I have seen some cool stuff via youtube lurkage already but I didn't really look very deeply, so now I did.

Ireland. I was in Ireland for a short visit in 1998. I skated this amazing bank spot at a ferry terimal...Epic indeed. I watched a lot of these videos a while back, and the scene there totally reminds me of our scene here in Atlantic Canada. Rugged spots, a lot of skatepark footy, small scene and I think a similar culture in general.

Heres a montage posted early last year called Absolutely, Sort of.

Dion McGarrity

Keith Walsh shreds too

I found so much more rad Irish stuff, but don't want the post to be too long.

Italy was incredibly harder. But it kinda facinated me.

They call this dude "The Wiga". Heavy song selection heavy PTs and a kickflip to buttslide. I don't know what to think. You decide for yourself.

Then theres this dude

Both of those parts are from a company called La Ghigliottina and the 2nd was a guy named Fede Faccioli. The video is named after him, and its called "Double F & Stupid Life".

Last but not least we haver Mauro Caruso who is on Cliche.

This post is getting way too long, so only one more country.

From Iceland we have David Jonsson

and a trailer for a video called "Algleymi".

That is all.

1FS Around the World: H

H brings us to the Central American country of Honduras. Not much in terms of production, but it is documenting skating in that country and thats what I set out to find. Sounds like late 90's SoCal punk, but in Spanish.

Hungary: Heres a montage of skating in Budapest in 2007-2008 by a VM called Kronika. Looks like Hungary has some spots.

I thought that Germany would be easier, but it actually took some digging. Here is a German skater named Vladik Sholz

Greece...This is Giorgos Papadimitriou from a Greek video called "Raised Wrong"

Fabio Cristiano & Rodrigo TX

Heres some sick Brazilian shredding featuring Fabio Cristiano and Rodrigo TX. With love from Brasil via 48Blocks.comMobb Medley

1FS Around the World: F

I've been looking forward to Finland...For a country with a population just over 5 million they have a very healthy skate scene, and a couple big names coming from there. We all know Arto, Jani and Marius but there looks to be a few more dudes holding it down in the land with the raddest names. Here is Sakke Niskanen who rides for a company called Aste Skateboards.

France is easy. Luy-Pa Sin from a Nomads Point of View by Nomad Skateboards.

1FS Around the World: E

I rarely post two times in one month lately...but I'm feeling inspired...Here we go, twice in a single day!

Ecuador seems to have its shit together. Well filmed, well edited, good parks, good spots. Good skater named Cohete from a video by the Ecuadorian outfit Love Skateboards entitled "Raices de un Amor Extraño"

We all know Danny Brady and we all know Blueprint. Hes from England...heres his part from "Lost and Found"So Good.

Egypt seems like is one of those countries with a young scene. This was the best I could find from there.

****Bonus Country****

Estonia: Here is the ender from the 2007 Estonian video called "Hallo vä?!" the dudes name is Mihkel Vahermaa. And there goes my tree stump manny idea....damn that parked car.

1FS Around the World: D

Michael Neilsen from Denmark...From the 2007 video: The Boss is Back. My buddy Ian is going to Denmark in a couple weeks. I hope he has time for some skating in between all the foam parties and blondes.

I didn't hear anyone bumping the Misfits or Minor Threat while I was in the Dominican Republic in 2007, but I did see some gnarly skate spots. Heres a Dominican skater named Yvan Diaz...he seems to like jumping down stuff. He wants to get sponsored. Good on 'em.
